We were pleased to organize on July 14, a debate on the most important challenges Romania is facing in key sectors for its future sustainable development - energy, agriculture and natural resources. We were honored to have with us one of the world's top experts in developing economies, governance and public administration reform and globalization: Prof. Brian van Arkadie.
With an extensive academic and consulting experience on developing countries, Prof. Van Arkadie has an impressive career as professor, lecturer and researcher at some of the world's top universities including Berkeley, Yale, and Cambridge. As a consultant, Prof. Arkadie has advised governments, donor agencies and development banks in Asia, Africa and Eastern Europe on macro-economic and sector policies and assisted with the preparation of government reform and public investment programs. He is also the author and co-author of several books on economic policy and political economy.
Together with Romanian experts from both the public and the private sectors, Prof. Brian van Arkadie shared his view on Romania's future steps in its economic development and social welfare, pointing out major challenges and suggesting tested solutions.
